Simple and classic, The Old Church is an elegant and flexible wedding venue, whether you’re looking for timeless romance, urban glamor, or vintage chic. This 1882 Victorian-era jewel offers cathedral ceilings, dramatic chandeliers, and stunning stained-glass windows. Located in the West End cultural district of downtown Portland, we are within easy walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and other historic and cultural attractions for your out-of-town guests.

Our new heating and air conditioning system keeps the space comfortable year-round, and a recent interior painting project highlights the beauty of the vaulted ceilings and provides a perfect backdrop for your ceremony. We are also wheel chair accessible. We tailor the space to make your wedding ceremony and reception personalized and unforgettable. The Old Church operates as an independent nonprofit and maintains no religious affiliation, so you can select the officiant of your choice. The hand-carved fir pews, that seat 300 and are divided by a 30-foot-long center aisle, form a semicircle around the ample altar area. The reception hall hosts sit-down receptions for 80 guests and casual buffet receptions for 150. The wedding party has access to a dressing room with ample mirrors and a beautiful adjoining Victorian parlor, furnished in period antiques. A second dressing room is on the lower level.
